We are here to partner with others to help open doors

We are passionate about supporting the future plans and strategy of the Garth Homer Society. Our job is to amplify the impact of all sizes of donations and we have an experienced team ready to collaborate to make it happen.

Most of our funds are invested for long-term yield to ensure lifelong support for clients and to open doors for many more people – whether for arts, social or volunteer programs for people with cognitive disabilities, or stepping stone programs for supported employment or learning, our goal is to increase access to these services from developmental disabilities to adult onset of autism or dementia, or an acquired brain injury … there is so much work for us to do together!

We are deeply grateful for individual memorial donations we have been able to match, where 200% goes directly to programming, but mostly, we are grateful for the testimony of how much these programs mattered to individuals and their families. You inspire us!

In the 2022/23 fiscal year, here is where our funds have gone for the Garth Homer Society:

• The Garth Homer Society “Options Program” matching, in memorium of Mel
• The Garth Homer Endowment Fund matching, in memorium of Nina
• New chairs for the auditorium at the Garth Homer Centre
• Fundraising services for a major Garth Homer Society Capital Campaign
• Matching of a major gift for expansion into Acquired Brain Injury programs
• Ongoing support for Garth Homer Society facilities, including Artworks, LifeStreams Learning and Employment Program in Vancouver Island Technology Park
• Indirectly, to the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association (VTRA)

Our next mission is to help provide funding for temporary relocation while the Garth Homer Centre is demolished and new Centre built as part of the Nigel Valley Project in Saanich.

If you would like your donation directed to a specific project, program or capital item, we'll work with you to make it happen. We also maintain Endowment Fund and like others, you may prefer to direct your gift to endowment and a legacy for future need.
