The net proceeds of this years Tournament were $15,400!! We want to thank ALL the golfers, sponsors (see below), volunteers and the staff at the Cedar Hill Golf course for helping us to have such a successful – and fun – event.
We hope you will mark your calendar for next year’s event, to be held on Monday, May 10, 2010. If you would like to receive information, or to make any enquires, please contact us: fundraising @ garthhomersociety.org.
Of course, this event could not be the success it is without the tremendous support of many community partners. For this year's event, we had the valued support of the following community partners:

This year, the 6th Annual Golf Tournament is being held at the Cedar Hill Golf Course with a shot gun start. In previous years, participants have given us feedback that the day is well organized and lots of fun, so we hope you will join us and see what all the buzz is about!
We were pleased, once again, that the Victoria Men’s Wear Golf Association pledged their support to our tournament, to create an even better and more enjoyable event for participants.
This year we were thrilled to able to offer FIVE Hole-in-One competitions, in addition to other golf competitions around the course! We also had Bonus Packages which are optional for purchase. They contained Gimmie Strings of between 10 ft and 30 ft, as well as other competition chances. For those who registered, but had not purchased the Bonus Package, they could be purchased at the registration/check in table on the day.
The format was Texas Scramble foursome for both women and men, and with the practice of "bring a prize, win a prize", everybody had a chance to be on the winning team and earn bragging rights. Those who joined us sent in a registration form to our office.
Thanks to the support of the many golfers and sponsors of last year’s Tournament, the Foundation was able to purchase a more suitable truck to replace a smaller one, enabling our Community Access Team (CAT) to develop their already very effective recycling program. If you came to our tournament last year, all the clients and staff of the CAT Team, once again, want to say a huge thank you!
This year we set the goal of raising $15,000 - $20,000 towards the purchase of a vehicle to replace one of the vehicles in our aging fleet. These vehicles are on the road everyday transporting adults with developmental disabilities to volunteer in the community, participate in recreational activities promoting a healthy lifestyle and attending cultural events. All these activities help the Society's clients to connect with and contribute to community.
